Lancashire Evening Post
As soon as you walk through the door of The Ribchester Arms there’s a cheery greeting aimed your way; so if there are four of you, as there were in our party, prepare for a lot of “Hellos” – from the waiters, waitresses and from behind the bar.
We made our first choice just after we entered – whether to dine up in the bar area which, on this rainy July day had a warming fire in the fireplace, or to sit in the non-smoking dining room. We opted for the latter and took our places in a tastefully decorated room with tall sculptured flower decorations in each window.
The main courses all looked absolutely gorgeous. My slowly roasted lamb with minted gravy was a huge hunk of tender meat that was just oozing flavour and was so filling that I barely made inroads into the bowl of sliced carrots, cabbage, broccoli and new potatoes that came with it. Desserts were beyond my capabilities but a sticky, gooey chocolate fudge cake and a fruit pavlova were judged a success.
We donned raincoats and sorted out umbrellas ready for our dash to the car. Sure enough, as we got to the door there was a shower of farewells. “Bye” “Thank you” “Goodbye” “See you again” “Cheerio”. They’re a friendly lot in Ribchester. - Condensed version of an article written by Sally Fowler, Evening Post

I have eaten at the Ribchester Arms on many occasions, including a private family function. The staff are courteous and very helpful, accomodating my gluten free diet with helpful suggestions and discussion with the chef (on a very busy Sat evening).
The rooms are beautifully lit , comfortable and intimate...but the foood, OH the food! Cooked to perfection, hot and wondefully tasty...lamb so tender and tasty I kept nibbling long after I was full! (The dog got less in her bag that night!) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!!
